Starting Week 61 with Nutrisystem

SIXTY weeks in the books!!!...WOWEEEE!! Before Nutrisystem, if anyone told me I would stick with a diet plan for 60 weeks, I wouldn't believe them. If they said I would still be enthusiastic about it 60 weeks later, I would think they were totally off their rocker. BUT, it's true! 

This graphic reminded me of something I read many years ago. It was a story about when Walt Disney created Disneyland, he insisted Sleeping Beauty's Castle be built first so workers could envision and rally around the dream he was trying to create. As with any goal, envisioning what you want to accomplish can help you achieve it. I think for those of us who struggle with our weight, we tend to only think about how heavy we are or that we can't lose weight instead of pulling out a photo of ourselves at our ideal weight and envisioning ourselves there. No matter what our goals are, it's always good to remind ourselves "What we think about, we bring about".

Starting Week 60 with Nutrisystem

Since I've been walking in the pool and am doing a few light exercises in physical therapy, I thought I would try increasing my calorie intake last week to avoid having my body go into starvation mode again. It didn't work so well this time. 

Despite my struggles lately, the Nutrisystem team is always so supportive. I feel like I'm letting them down these last couple of months which makes me sad, but they're always there to pick me back up. My counselor, Jaclyn, moved away and left the company and I was assigned a new counselor, Mary, who is so positive and encouraging. It helps to have a support team in your corner not only to cheer you on, but to reassure you not to give up which is exactly what they did for me. I spent some time this weekend thinking about how I felt right before starting Nutrisystem. I remember how excited I was as though it was yesterday and, although I was scared I would fail, I was filled with hope and anticipation. I pretended for a moment that it was March 2016 and I was at the starting gate again. 

Clearly the plan works and in 59 weeks I've never been bored with it...and trust me, I lose interest in most everything very quickly. Don't let my recent results discourage you; they are a result of complications from my accident and have nothing to do with the plan. I think once you try the food, you'll be eager to start your own Nutrisystem journey. 

By Thursday I was up over 2 lbs. I ended the week with a .6 .lb gain and that's as far as I want to see the scale increase. I'm back to logging my meals and water and aiming for 1200 calories a day. Keep looking forward!
