Let me start by saying I went off the plan last weekend for the first time since starting my weight-loss journey. This week's post was also delayed because I was hit by a car head-on while walking in a parking lot on Friday. I remember the car hitting me and then somehow landed 8' from it and my handbag, miraculously, with no broken bones. I'm still trying to find a way to erase the constant image of the blazer coming at me, but in the last year I've done what I never thought possible as far as weight loss so I will find a way to get through this as well. Thanks to Nutrisystem I was in the best health I've been in in years when the accident occurred. When the paramedics took my blood pressure, it had spiked to the highest it's ever been. I hate to think what would have happened if I hadn't gotten it down to 120/80 through diet and exercise prior to the accident.
I had a party planned for 35 people on Sunday which I had to cancel and although I chose mostly healthy items, I had some unhealthy dips and chips which I indulged in after being released from the hospital. No matter how good it may have tasted, trust me the fleeting satisfaction wasn't worth the guilt that followed eating an entire container of dip. I wish I had made these Zucchini Fritters with Soy Sauce instead ~
Or these 5-Minute Air Fryer Coconut Shrimp with Spicy Apricot Sauce. YUM!! Both recipes found on The Leaf.
Dieting or not, the last thing one wants to think about while injured is having to go grocery shopping, especially when the injury occurred on the way to the market. It doesn't matter if you have 5 or 105 lbs. to lose, having a freezer full of food and meals that can be heated in minutes is a huge comfort when you're not able to shop or cook. Once again, I have Nutrisystem to thank for coming to my rescue.
I felt like I was having a great week weight loss wise up until the accident. I'd like to think my results would have been better if I hadn't indulged, but I'll take the .2 lb. loss and count my lucky stars in more ways than one. This brings my 49-week total to 45 lbs. which equals 25% of my starting weight. That's a whole 1/4 person! ☺☺☺
