Starting Week 35 with Nutrisystem



Me oh my, dieting during the holidays takes a lot of willpower...and planning. All things considered, I think I did pretty well. I volunteered at a local Church to help serve dinner to the community which made it easy to avoid all my usual snacking before Thanksgiving dinner. We had so much food left over, I could have had dinner for a week, but I passed on taking a plate {or three} home and skipped the dessert table entirely, both of which are HUGE accomplishments for me. Even so, it was a lot more food than I have been eating in one sitting. I thought about saving half for Friday, but wanted to get back on Nutrisystem right away so figured that wasn't a good idea. I weighed in Thursday morning and by Friday had gained 2 lbs. Even worse, I felt completely wiped out. It reminded me how I used to feel every morning when I woke up...tired, achy, and sad. I'm convinced food, and more specifically food intolerances, are at the root of nearly every ailment and illness, at least they seem to be for me. I don't think we should skip enjoying our favorite traditional dishes on holidays, but everything in moderation really does seem to be the key. I know this but still not completely "there" yet. 




Moving on and happy to be back on the plan. I'm looking forward to indulging in some healthier options like these Dijon Glazed Brussel Sprouts, in the video recipe above, found on The Leaf
