This week started out as one of my most challenging on the plan. I struggled with finding the right balance of how many additional calories to have on the days I exercise a lot. I'm trying to avoid my body going into starvation mode, but when I added calories, the scale started creeping up. I also found once I started adding the additional powerfuel and healthy carb, I was craving them even on the days I wasn't exercising heavily. I started to feel as though I had taken a few steps backwards and was getting discouraged.
I began looking for other ways to keep myself motivated during this learning curve. When I went for my annual wellness visit in May, my doctor wanted to put me on blood pressure medicine because it had been very high on that and the previous two visits. I told her I wanted to try and get it down on my own. I took it this week for the first time since that visit and it was a perfect 120/78! If it weren't for Nutrisystem, I don't think this would be possible.
And, of course, losing 20% of my body weight would not have been possible without Nutrisystem either. Wound up with a .4 lb. loss this week for a 31-week total of 36.2 lbs.! ☺☺☺
