Starting Week 23 on Nutrisystem



As I mentioned last week I reached out to my Nutrisystem Counselor, Jaclyn, to ask her advice and get some suggestions on ways to possibly boost my metabolism. I felt there was a disconnect between the scale and all the exercise I was doing. My first question to Jaclyn was if she thought trying a modified version of the first week of Turbo Takeoff was a good idea. We agreed I would substitute a Turbo Shake for the morning powerfuel and a NutriCrush Shake for the afternoon powerfuel and healthy carb. I also planned to skip the Nutrisystem after-dinner snack. I love the shakes and had no trouble substituting them for the morning and afternoon snacks, but I wasn't successful in skipping the delicious Nutrisystem dessert each night. I'd like to think it was because I needed the extra carbs with all the biking, walking, kayaking, tennis, and pool jogging I did, but truth be told, I find the ice cream sandwiches and honey mustard pretzel bites just too good to pass up. ☺



I also began keeping track of my water intake again which I hadn't done for many weeks. I realized the first day, I was not meeting the 64-oz. goal and fell short almost the entire week. That, in itself, is most likely contributing to my weight loss slowing down. It's definitely something I need to continue to keep an eye on.



Jaclyn also suggested that I make sure to include a variety of powerfuels, and for this coming week, she advised choosing items other than dairy for 3 days straight. Having a Nutrisystem Counselor available to brainstorm ideas and to provide encouragement and suggestions when you feel yourself plateauing is a huge asset. Jaclyn's advice was an eye-opener since all of the powerfuels I opt for are dairy products ~ string cheese, hard-boiled egg, and yogurt. I am anxious to see how eliminating the dairy powerfuels will impact next week's results. Knowing I have different options to try gave me the mental boost I needed and seeing the difference substituting the shakes made on the scale was super encouraging. 



Lost 2 lbs.! It's been over 2 months since I've lost 2 lbs. in one week! This brings my 22-week total to 28.8 lbs. Thank you, Nutrisystem and Jaclyn! ♥
