Starting Week 2 on Nutrisystem

Week 1 is over and I have to admit, with only 900-1000 calories a day, I was a little nervous about it, but I followed the plan exactly and guess what? I survived!☺ Don't get me wrong, I hit some rough patches especially the first couple of days. Since I couldn't have cream in my coffee, I gave that up as well and, at times, could barely keep my eyes open! If you typically have caffeine, I don't suggest giving it up when starting this plan. Maybe substitute unsweetened iced tea or black coffee, both of which are allowed. Including 4 servings of fresh veggies a day helped as did eating every 2 hours. I also suggest planning some fun things to do the first week. Doing a few random acts of kindness, exercising in our indoor pool, and an overnight getaway to one of my favorite destinations {with my Nutrisystem meals in tow} all helped me stay positive.

The Turbo and NutriCrush Shakes were surprisingly delicious, loaded with vitamins, but not that "vitamin" taste that many other brands have. I mixed them in the blender and they turned out extra frosty. I'm already much more conscious of portion sizes and how many calories are in each meal. Nutrisystem makes this easy to do as every package has the calorie count clearly printed on the front. There are over 150 menu items, and in each post I will share my favorites. Last week it was a tie between the Blueberry and Cinnamon Streusel Breakfast Muffins ~

In week 2 the shakes are eliminated and 1 snack or dessert is added each day. Hard to imagine how one can have fudge bars, cookies, and cake on this plan and still lose weight, but I have total confidence that the Nutrisystem team would not lead me astray. Looking forward to trying this Carrot Cake {140 calories} ~

Also starting in week 2, a protein is added with breakfast, and a smart carb and protein as an afternoon snack. I think the addition of these foods along with an after-dinner snack or dessert will make the next few weeks much easier.

And now for the weigh-in. Nutrisystem guarantees you will lose 5 lbs. in the first week on Turbo Takeoff. I am to weigh myself each week preferably in the same clothes and in the same location for the most accurate read. Sooo, how did I do?

The flash obliterated the "1", ☺ but that's 173.8 ~ down 6.2 lbs. ~ I'll take it! Hoping to drop some more this week so I need to ramp up my exercise routine. Off I go...
