An Evening with Margrit Mondavi

We had the pleasure of joining Mrs. Margrit Mondavi and winemaker Genevieve Janssens at Bouley Botanicals in NYC as they spotlighted several wines from the renowned To Kalon vineyard. Our two favorites were the 2011 Oakville Cabernet Sauvignon and the Fume Blanc Reserve. 

Genevieve, who has been with Mondavi for 25 years and is Director, Winemaking, is so passionate about her work. It is evident that each vintage is a unique creation into which she, and the 65-person winemaking team, pour their hearts and souls. As if the Mondavi To Kalon vineyard wines and Bouley Botanicals food and venue were not enough, we were also treated to a work of art by artist Agelio Batle. 

Robert Mondavi Winery commissioned Batle to create a limited-edition To Kalon Vine in Graphite to represent the richness of the vineyard. Designed from graphite, Batle’s artistry and talent are evident in the perfection of the final product.
