Gourmet Goodness

Our kitchen has never seen so much action! We've been busy taste-testing delicious gourmet treats...tough job, huh? Whether you are a budding gourmet, on a gluten-free diet, or can't cook to save your life {hello!}, we've found something for everyone. Grab your notepad and pen and have fun visiting the websites below to plan your next delicious meal, dinner party, wish or gift list. And don't miss your chance to win a Gourmet Goodie Box valued at $150+. YUM!

When you're looking for a unique gift idea or just a special treat for yourself, checkout Amazing Clubs. So many fun clubs to choose from including Wine, Dessert, Beer, and Dinner/Movie. Available in seasonal, 3, 6, or 12-month subscriptions, it's definitely the gift that keeps on giving. We tried the Pasta Club which includes two packages of pasta and two jars of sauce. The Flying Noodle Primavera Sauce and Garlic and Dill Angel Hair were fabulous. The sauce was chunky and light and included bits of summer squash, onion, zucchini and green peppers. The pasta tasted like it was made from scratch...very fresh an tasty. Pasta Club subscriptions start at $26.95. Available at amazingclubs.com.

Want the convenience of enjoying gourmet dinners at home without all the work? Say hello to Cuisine Solutions. We tried their Chef-prepared Chicken Marsala which tasted as though it was prepared at our favorite restaurant. The chicken was plump, juicy, and cooked to perfection in the oven in 25 minutes {can also be heated in the microwave}. The mushrooms were tender, the marsala sauce flavorful and the consistency was "just right". The sauce had a bit too much oregano in it for me, although any amount of oregano is too much for me. That aside, from delivery to dinner table, Cuisine Solutions gets a perfect score. $10.99 for a box of two chicken breasts in marsala sauce. Available at Costco, Sam's Club, Wegmans and online at cuisinesolutions.com.

For the perfect barbeque, be sure to invite Lobel's. We tried their 8-oz USDA Prime Ground Beef Wyoming Burgers which were huge! We actually made two out of them. My Dad was a butcher so I know a bit about the different cuts and quality of beef. The Wyoming Burgers are top notch and delish! We also tried the Seasoned Split Chicken which were unbelievably juicy and the seasoning divine. It smelled so good, I was actually scraping it off the package so we didn't waste any. ☺ Two 8-oz. Wyoming Burgers retail for $14.98 and the Seasoned Split Chicken is $15.98 at Lobels.com.

By far THE best gluten-free bread we've ever tasted...and we baked it ourselves...well, sort of. Luce's Gluten-Free Artisan Bread Mix contains everything you need to bake up a delicious loaf of warm goodness. All you need to add is water! Included in the bag is flour mix, a parchment baking sheet and bag and rice flour for dusting on the top of the loaf, storage bag {if there's any left} and directions.  A crusty shell with a soft center is chock full of nooks and crannies. My loaf didn't rise as high as this picture, but who cares? It was UNBELIEVABLE just the same. $7.95 at lucegfbread.com.

Personalized Ice Cream that tastes as good as its clever names, Yes Please! Although I can't cook, I can make a mean Cookies 'n Cream ice cream so that's exactly what I ordered up from my new friends at eCreamery. Of course, I had to see if it was as good as mine and was curious how it would hold up shipping all the way from Omaha Nebraska. The verdict? AMAZING! Gelato, sorbet and ice cream all arrived in perfect condition and are fresh and fantastic. Custom flavors can also be created. This is such a fun gift or personal indulgence. Four pints retail for $49.99. Shipping, custom flavors, and personalization are additional. ecreamery.com.

We've been searching for a long time to find the World's Best Rugelach and Debbie's Rugelach is the best we've found so far. This light and delicate all-natural, butter and cream cheese pastry is available with three delicious fillings and sprinkled with cinnamon and sugar. We tried all three fillings ~ Traditional Currant Walnut, Very Apricot and Decadent Chocolate Chip. All were incredible. Available in Individual or Assorted Flavors starting at $7.95 at debbiesrugelach.com.

I'm always looking for healthy ways to add more protein to my diet. NuttZo Nut and Seed Butter is a delicious source of Omega3's. Made of 100% organic ingredients including Flax Seeds, Peanuts, Hazelnuts, Sunflower Seeds, Brazilian Nuts, Almonds, Cashews, Sea Salt. Available in Crunchy, Creamy and Peanut-free, it's delicious right out of the jar and has only 1 gram of sugar. Started by a mom {of course}, the company also runs a non-profit, Project Left Behind, whose mission is to promote education, improve nutrition and living conditions for orphans around the globe. A 16-oz. jar retails for $12.99 at nuttzo.com.

Lady Fortune's turns the classic Oreo into a gourmet treat. Dipped in milk and white chocolate and then drizzled with more chocolate, these artistically decorated confection are a chocolate lover's dream. The elegant gold box of 9 Chocolate-Covered Oreo's is a thoughtful and indulgent gift for the client you want to impress, as a "thank you" or as a sweet surprise to someone special. $19.99 at ladyfortunes.com.

Whenever I visit my sister up North, I can always find something from Stew Leonard's in her pantry or fridge. For those of us who aren't lucky enough to have a Stew Leonard's in our town, several of their baked goodies can be found online. Stew Leonard's New England Blueberry Coffee Cake is moist, deliciously rich, and perfect with afternoon tea. A thin layer of blueberries is in the center of this buttery coffee cake. The final touch is a dusting of cinnamon sugar on top and few more blueberries. Ours arrived without a crumb out of place. $19.99 at stewsgifts.com.

YUM! Maille's Rich Country Dijon Mustard is silky smooth and the addition of wine, cinnamon and ginger is soooo tasty. It makes a fabulous salad dressing and can be brushed on quiche crust before adding the filling, or mix with a little sour cream to mashed potatoes. $4.03 at mybrands.com.

Spice up your life with Urban Accents Dry Glazes and Grilling Rubs. An easy way to add a gourmet touch to your barbeques and everyday dinners especially for the cooking challenged like me. Flavors include Mandarin Ginger, ChimChurri and Cayman Citrus Heat. Urban Accents also has a nice selection of seasoned salts, mixes and recipes at urbanaccents.com

We love the fresh and flavorful Tomato Vodka Pasta Sauce from Wine Country Kitchens. Has a real homemade taste and is thick and creamy containing a touch of cream and a splash of vodka. Perfect on pasta and chicken, or add a drop more cream for a hearty tomato soup. A 25-ounce. jar retails for $8.00 at oclocalfare.com.
