Harveys Seatbelt Bags Review

Today I get to share with you one of my most unique finds ever! Actually I put out a call for unique gift ideas and their PR Rep found us, and I am thrilled that she did! For those who haven't heard of Harveys, they make handbags out of seatbelts! On their way to Las Vegas to elope in 1997, company founders Dana and Melanie Harvey, stopped to replace the seatbelts in their 1950's Chevy. Inspired by the old American feel of their vintage car, Dana decided to make Melanie a unique handbag using the excess seatbelts...and the rest, my friends, is history. I didn't think it was possible to love the handbags as much as their story, but after seeing them in person, we quickly changed our minds. We received these two gorgeous handbags to facilitate this review  ~
The images do not come close to capturing the beauty of these bags. Both bags we received were in size "small", however, these are generously sized handbags, not too big, and definitely not too small...perfect really. They are so unique and well-made...oh, and did I mention they are made in the USA?! What husband wouldn't want to give their wife a handbag made out of seatbelts for Mother's Day? This is GENIUS and what a conversation piece! Each bag is fully lined with Harveys' monogram print and includes a removable chic logo hangtag. Just like seatbelts, they have a bit of a sheen to them and a classic tailored look. The brushed nickle hardware is shiny silver. The "Stella" bag also includes a detachable shoulder strap. Each bag retails for $258 and both are available in a larger size. Both styles, as well as many others, are available at select retailers across the US and online at SeatbeltBags.com. We were so impressed with these bags, we included Harveys in our Mother's Day gift ideas segment scheduled to air Monday on NBC-17's My Carolina Today. Many thanks to Harveys for gifting us these two beautiful bags and HUGE thanks to the My Carolina Today team for being so kind to us!
