The Protein Bakery Review and Giveaway

After seeing how popular food gifting events were with readers, I contacted a few companies in search of the perfect Blondie, and The Protein Bakery immediately stepped up. Owner, Stephen Charles Lincoln, Fitness instructor turned healthy baker/entreprenuer, created The Protein Bakery in 1999 to combine the benefits of protein in a rich gourmet taste. These brownies, blondies and cookies are all-natural, high-protein, high-fiber and wheat-free! A cookie that is both healthy and delicious ~ are we in Heaven?

Within hours of speaking with Stephen an assortment was on its way to us via Fed Ex. We received a Pumpkin Walnut Blondie $4.25, Peanut Butter Brownie $4.25, Trail Mix Colossal Cookie $4.50, Peanut Butter Peanut Butter Chip Colossal Cookie $4.50, a two-pack in each of Pumpkin Walnut Chip Cookies, Chocolate Chocolate White Chip Cookies, Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies, and Chocolate Chocolate White Chocolate Chip Cookies, $3.25 per pack.

I wasn't sure the taste could outdo the stellar service, however, it was equally wonderful. No surprise, my favorite of the sampler pack was the Pumpkin Walnut Blondie, it was dense and incredibly moist. I'm not usually a big fan anything with a pumpkin flavor, but it tasted a lot like carrot cake to me which I loved. The walnut topping added a delicious crunchy texture. The Colossal cookies lived up to their name! The fact that a cookie this thick could stay so moist and chewy amazes me. I loved the unique Trail Mix Cookie made with coconut, raisins, dried cranberries, sunflower seeds, and pumpkin seeds. We warmed the Peanut Butter Peanut Butter Chip Cookie in the microwave for 15 seconds and it gave it that fresh-from-the-oven taste, pair with a cold glass of milk and snuggle up in front of a cozy fire. Individually wrapped, these goodies are also perfect and convenient as a to-go snack for work or when traveling. Cookie tins and multi packs also available. 

What struck me most about these cookies, brownies and blondies is how filling they were. Cookies are my weakness, I have a very hard time stopping at one, or two, or three. Those who know me will find this hard to believe, but I actually had a hard time finishing the Blondie in one sitting, it was so filling. Another huge plus I didn't feel sluggish after eating any of these goodies nor did I feel like my blood sugar was spiking or falling. I guess that's the difference in eating a healthy, protein-filled treat rather than just a calorie-filled sugar cookie.


The Protein Bakery bakes in small batches, and because they use no preservatives, recommends consuming soon after receiving or freezing. Somehow I don't think these delicious morsels see the inside of too many freezers.
