For as long as I can remember I've been in awe of the talent and creativity of artists who specialize in more than one medium. Catherine Powers, creator of Inspired Home, is one of those individuals. I've known a few artists, a couple of candle makers, many writers, maybe even a poet, but I never met someone who is all of the above...until now. Catherine's talent appears limitless. I connected with Catherine on Twitter and she sent me two of her hand poured, made in America, soy candles to review.
Let me start by admitting I am VERY picky about candles. I've tried hundreds of different brands and have found very few with which I am thrilled. If there is a hint of a wax scent, if the fragrance doesn't permeate the room, if it doesn't burn evenly and cleanly or if I don't love the aroma, it will wind up in the "save for power outages" candle pile. (If you're in North Carolina and the lights go out, you know where to go for candles).

The candle is hand poured in a frosted glass tumbler with a lead-free cotton wick. The first candle I tried was Pink Grapefruit. The next scent I tried was Lemon Fig which has a captivating and refreshingly vibrant fragrance. My home smells INCREDIBLE! All of Inspired Home's scents sound fantastic and I'm sure all are equally delightful.
My feeling is you can never have too many quality candles. They are the perfect little luxury to relax, scent a room, and add a cozy or romantic atmosphere, and Inspired Home candles are among the best I've ever tried.
